Remote Testing Capability
One of the key features of the simulator contributing to the success of the project is the remote testing ability. Remote testing of the simulator allows operators to assess its functionality and performance from any location, ensuring all features are working correctly and providing an opportunity to identify any potential issues or improvements needed.
CPGCBL and Toshiba were able to access the simulator for updates and debugging, while TRAX was able to update and test the Matarbari simulator halfway around the world. The team used Teamviewer and Ultraviewer to collaborate with each other, and this enabled TRAX, Toshiba, and CPGCBL to make good progress during testing to validate the accuracy and reliability of the system, ultimately ensuring that it met the requirements for effective training and operation.
Remote Training
Remote work additionally provides the opportunity for remote simulator instructor training. For the Matarbari simulator, TRAX provides training on topics including simulator hardware startup and shut down, creating and executing malfunctions, and the development of training scenarios and associated training aids such as trend files.
The comprehensive TRAX Student Training Program (STP) can be delivered remotely, and in this case received high praise from the client. TRAX included a step-by-step guide for various plant evolutions in accordance with the phased delivery.
